LISA JISA
I moved to Pagosa Springs in December 2021. Born and raised in Wisconsin, I've also lived in Minnesota, Kansas, North Dakota, Arizona, and other places in Colorado. I'm the mother of three adult children and a fur baby! Massage is a second career; I graduated from the Therapeutic Massage program at Madison College in 2018.
I prefer a natural approach to health and love the many benefits that massage provides. I enjoy customizing massage for clients in ways that will help them the most, whether that's for relaxation, pain relief, stress reduction, or a combo. I'm finishing up my flower essence practitioner certification and plan to offer consultations in the near future.
Massage therapy helped me immensely as I dealt with pain from chronic Lyme disease for many years (now completely gone!). The Gate Control Theory says nerves are only able to carry one signal to the brain at a time. Massage can override pain receptors in the muscles, and the comforting feeling from massage can "get through the gate" and to the brain faster than the pain signal, bringing relief.
I also understand firsthand the benefits of massage for athletes, as I have been a marathoner, ultra trail runner, triathlete, and Ironman competitor. Massage is beneficial in reducing the intensity and duration of DOMS (delayed onset muscle soreness), the discomfort that often follows a hard workout.
These days I enjoy a more relaxed lifestyle, spending time in nature, taking walks with Gemma (my toy/mini poodle), and visiting family and friends. I'm also a bit of a neuroscience junkie, learning all I can about brain plasticity. And I'm a writer, too! My novel, Pearls of Winter, can be found on Amazon or downtown at Pagosa's very own Bookends!
I look forward to meeting you--book your massage appointment today!

I am a Pagosa native, born and raised. Adventures after school lead me all over Colorado, New Mexico and Arizona. Seeing more of the world around me led me to appreciate what a beautiful, magical and special place my hometown is and I am blessed to be back. I attended Trinidad State College for Massage Therapy, graduating in 2020. As the rivers flow through the mountains, life has many twists and turns and I am blessed to begin my new journey with PMAB. I am a musician of sorts, bass guitar and saxophone are my bread and butter and I love to experience live music. Massage Therapy, to me, is the holistic appoach on healing all aspects of the self; mind, body and spirit. Foremost, we experience the physical relief of tending to aches and pains, but equally important is how that helps focus our minds in a more positive way. A brighter outlook leads to endless possibilities, and my goal is to help you heal in the purest form.

Your life is your medicine! The body is in a constant state of healing, so the trick is figuring out how to facilitate that. I hope to be a blessing and a light to those who I come in contact with. Personal growth is the utmost important thing in my life.
I am the mother of two adult boys. I love to be in the Sun, traveling, and hiking with my dog Cosmos. I am originally from the Pacific Northwest but have also lived in Arizona and New Mexico. I decided to make southern Colorado my home because of the people, the amount of sunshine, and the mountains.
I recently graduated from the Neuromuscular Therapy Program at The Colorado Institute of Massage Therapy in Colorado Springs. It was one of the most amazing experiences of my life! The neuromuscular part of the program taught me how to facilitate the brain-body connection for the ultimate healing experience. I am happy to be of service, and to be a part of the team here at PMAB + Movement!

LAUREN CRAWFORD
I grew up here in Pagosa Springs, Colorado, and after a short time in Montana for college, I grew tired of the severe cold and moved to the beautiful island of Kauai. I was in a car accident in 2004 in Colorado that left me with chronic pain and limited movement in my hips. After having lived on Kauai for 3 years and receiving massage monthly, I noticed how much of an effect massage was having on my body. I was able, for the first time in a long time, to bend over my own knees to tie my shoes! I decided I wanted to give back so I enrolled in massage school. I attended the Kauai Community College Academy of Healing Arts. I worked as an eco-tour guide and massage therapist for a number of years before moving back to the mainland and specifically the sleepy town I grew up in, Pagosa! After working in various local spas, I was growing restless and feeling that there was more I could do for people. Massage is so much more then just a monthly treat; massage can heal a person. I look forward to working more with physicians, physical therapists, and chiropractors to keep people healthy and in balance. I work with clients to make a goal oriented plan, and that is the vision I have for PMAB too!
Lauren is also a certified 200hr Yoga Instructor, and is adding movement classes to the schedule! Check out the Schedule & Descriptions page for more info!
